letely upper crust. And the ambience is one of cool sophistication. With a steady stream of the well heeled, the hundred and three year old Taj Mahal Palace & Tower in Bombay is always buzzing with activity. With 565 rooms, 8 restaurants it is a preferred hotel for national and international celebrities. It has been rated as one of the best hotels worldwide and has won several national and international awards. Situated next to the Gateway of India, it is one of Bombay’s most famous landmarks.

It takes a team of 1700 people to run it and the personal dedication of most of them to keep it on top of the pile. Hotel Taj Mahal, a 13 part reality series tells the stories of a set of people who represent different levels in the well defined hierarchy, from the Executive Chef to a Front Office Manager, to a new recruit in the Laundry, there is something about each one that jumps off the screen. Their stories will reveal the `human’ side to the establishment. Through them, it will capture everything that happens in the line of duty, so to speak. Most often, the situations that we follow them through show the problems that every new day throws their way.

Currently under production for Discovery’s Travel & Living Channel, Hotel By the Bay is an ambitious project for broadcast in India as well as several other regions worldwide.
