Nokia N810
Although Nokia Corporation is primarily linked with the development and production of mobile phones, the Nokia N810 is not one of them. But rather, the Nokia N810 is an Internet appliance that was introduced on October 17, 2007 at the Web 2.0 Summit in San Francisco, California as an Internet Tablet. The Nokia N810 Internet Tablet enables its users to browse the Internet and to communicate by using Wi-Fi networks or to communicate with mobile phones through the Bluetooth technology.
Measuring 5.04 x 2.83 x 0.55 inches, weighing 7.97 ounces and being as crammed with features as it is, the slider-style Nokia N810 Internet Tablet can quite truthfully be considered a hand-held PC.
The following are just a handful of its more impressive features:
Backlit keyboard and an ambient light sensor as well as touch-screen technology
Front-facing webcam.
256 MB and 2GB integrated internal storage, 128 MB RAM plus a MiniSDHC card slot for additional memory of up to 8 GB.
Micro-USB.
OS 2008 Linux distribution based on Maemo 4.1 that features MicroB, a Mozilla-based mobile browser, a GPS navigation application and media player
A photo and video VGA camera with a 640 x 480 pixel resolution.
A 1,500 mAh BP-4L battery.
A 4.1 inch sunlight readable trans-reflective display screen with high resolution of 800 x 480 pixels that supports 65,536 colors.
IEEE 802.11b, IEEE 802.11g, Bluetooth 2.0 and YSB 2.0 connectivity.
An identical Internet device was introduced in April of 2008 called the Nokia N810 WiMAX Edition. In contrast to the Nokia N810, the Nokia N810 WiMAX Edition features a WiMAX radio, its external color is black whereas the Nokia N810 is light grey and the bulge on its back has been enlarged to accommodate a module.
